A new era for Hamburg!
The Hamburger Hochbahn is more than a transport company – it is a mover of the future.
Great things are in store for Hamburg’s east. And great change needs great visualization! For the launch of their U-Bahn100-project, Hamburger Hochbahn was looking for an agency to bring the hype from the rails to the screens.
U-Bahn100 means a departure every 100 seconds! This is Hochbahn’s promise – and officially heralds the future of Hamburg’s subway transport.
This will be made possible by the automation of the first Hamburg subway lines U2 and U4 in the east of the city – meaning big boost in terms of mobility for all passengers.
SHAPING THE
MOBILITY OF TOMORROW
IDEA
The charming red protagonists, which are somewhat reminiscent of famous German board game figures, not only reflect the innovative character of the project in their slick design. The „primitive shapes“ (i.e. the simple geometric figures such as spheres, cylinders or cones that make up all the figurines), allow people to be represented in an abstract and generic way – and with just a handful of figurines, as many Hamburgers as possible feel addressed.
DESIGN
Futuristic and tidy, yet not clinical or sterile. The solution: different textures on the surfaces provide a certain feel and comfort.
The tracks were not to be true to scale, but they were to be realized as a 3D model with a certain degree of realism – but still fit into the cubist, abstract visual world of the animated film.
RESULT
To introduce the new technology, we created and designed a campaign with a visionary animated film as its centerpiece. Here, explanatory elements and dynamic storytelling combine to create an entertaining audiovisual experience that makes the topic accessible to all Hamburg residents – and sparks excitement about the new subway railway system.
