NEOM – Shaping the Future of Travel
How do you show something that doesn’t exist yet?
By letting people experience what the future feels like.
Turning Future Complexity into Shared Direction
How a 2‑minute vision film aligned one of the world’s most ambitious airport projects
NEOM is more than a development project. It is a blueprint for how people will live, work, and travel in the future.
For NEOM Airport, this required more than infrastructure planning: it required a shared understanding of the future travel experience — long before a terminal existed.
Our role:
Translate an abstract future concept into a clear, coherent narrative that aligns teams and supports faster decision‑making.
The Challenge
Making an invisible future tangible
At the time of production, the NEOM Airport existed only as an idea.
No architecture. No final designs. No built environments.
Yet teams across strategy, operations, and technology needed a consistent picture of the future they were working toward.
The complexity was significant:
- Emerging travel and mobility trends
- Advanced AI‑driven technologies
- Ambitious sustainability objectives
- Highly personalized passenger journeys
- Seamless intermodal mobility
The task was not to document these aspects individually.
The task was to unify them — not as a technical roadmap, but as a human narrative.
Our Approach
From strategic groundwork to a coherent 3D future world
We began with structured clarity. Together with NEOM’s teams, we developed the narrative foundation based on:
- Future and trend research
- Persona development
- Co‑creation workshops
- A fully mapped end‑to‑end journey
Before architecture existed, we defined experience.
Before environments were designed, we shaped interaction.
From this strategic basis, we created a consistent, plausible 3D future world — emotionally accessible, yet grounded in reality.
The Story
A seamless, intelligent, and human travel experience
The film follows a connected end‑to‑end journey — from arrival to destination — illustrating how technology supports, rather than replaces, the human experience.
Key elements include:
- ID‑less check‑in via biometric recognition
- Autonomous baggage systems
- AI‑powered travel assistance
- Virtual retail delivered to the destination
- CO₂ transparency and sustainable choices
- Personalized on‑ground and in‑flight experiences
- Service robotics and smart mobility
- A fully connected journey from airport to hotel
At its core, the story focuses not on technology, but on empowerment:
A streamlined, supportive, and human‑centered travel experience.
The Impact
From “What if?” to “How do we build this?”
The vision film became more than a communication asset:
- A strategic North Star for architects, designers, and partners
- A tool for alignment across departments
- A catalyst for faster, clearer decisions
- A shared experiential reference for leadership
Instead of debating abstract concepts, stakeholders could respond to a tangible future scenario.
Discussions shifted from possibilities to implementation.
