GÖNRGY – that’s energy at full throttle. A brand that thinks loud, communicates colourfully and isn’t afraid of maximalist imagery.
The idea: five varieties, five AI worlds. Each one completely over the top, each one absolutely unique, each one completely GÖNRGY.
The implementation: real green screen filming meets digital fantasy worlds, with each variety getting its own over-the-top stage – powered by AI to make the impossible possible. Fast, direct and designed for maximum attention on smartphones and DOOH screens. All across Germany.
THE CHALLENGE
Hybrid AI Production
GÖNRGY’s brief was clear: real performances in front of a green screen. Behind it, AI worlds that catapult the five quirky Gönrgy varieties (from plum and cinnamon to apple rings) into their own, even quirkier reality. But the framework was challenging: a tight schedule (just under two months until delivery) and a single day of shooting, five products, dozens of assets, zero leeway.
Our task: to build a production from this setup that would make a maximum impact despite the limitations. Fast, scalable and visually punchy enough to work anywhere – on Instagram feeds as well as on DOOH screens. Energy, humour and clarity in a workflow designed for efficiency without compromising on look. And with an AI design workflow that delivers stability and quality where constant unpredictability actually reigns.
THE IDEA
One high-performance core, five individual looks
The central idea behind the production: a clear, repeatable process that works identically for all five varieties. A high-performance core that can be filmed on set in no time at all – and escalates completely differently in post-production. A structure that allows five completely different worlds to be told in just one day of filming. Fast. Efficient. Scalable.
AI-first thinking: the generated backgrounds were already defined before filming and determined the colour scheme, lighting mood and energy of each variety. This allowed the actual shoot to be tailored precisely to this – from the performance to the lighting. This reverse process (first AI world, then filming) formed the basis for a seamless hybrid workflow: clear setups on set, maximum freedom in post-production and enough creative space to make each variety its own exaggerated world.
THE IMPLEMENTATION
AI: Accelerator and wild card at the same time.
The AI worlds were defined before filming due to time constraints, but later had to be seamlessly integrated with the real footage – and this is where the real challenge began.
An AI workflow is not a 3D workflow: it is fast and flexible, but also unpredictable. Control meets chaos.
The biggest challenges:

Background-foreground interaction:
Actors had to react on set to effects in the background that were only created later using AI. -
Colour integration & movement:
The background and foreground should look as if they were filmed with the same camera. This required precise tracking, light matching and fine adjustments on set.

Perspective & Dynamics:
Every movement of the can, every fisheye close-up had to coincide precisely with the generated world. -
Iterative fine-tuning:
Unlike fully controllable 3D animation, AI involves trial and error, evaluation and refinement. The style and visual effects had to be determined for each variety and kept consistent.
We also rely on Unchain from Magia Labs to generate and consistently control AI content. This AI-powered studio platform allows us to efficiently create creative assets that are consistent with our brand and integrate them into our hybrid workflow.
This resulted in a hybrid process that combines live-action film and AI into a format that can be produced quickly while still delivering maximum visual impact. A workflow that enables both efficient series production and creative escalation.

The stories of the varieties are clearly coded, immediately recognisable visually and work particularly well in short, fast formats. The AI worlds reinforce exactly that: each variety becomes its own meme-worthy reality.
